Humanity

As I watched the news the other day, I heard the reporter ask a pastor why so many young people-teens-were killing each other in my city. The pastor replied that there is no respect for life in the community among the young people.

NO RESPECT FOR LIFE.

It happens that the reporter was talking to a Black pastor, discussing a rise in violence, especially gun violence, in an area of the city that has a predominantly Black population. I, a White person, couldn’t help but think about the fact that abortion providers in the US target Black and Brown communities, claiming that an unexpected pregnancy is a problem that can be solved by abortion with no ramifications. Children learn that their mother aborted their sibling. Some lives matter and some lives don’t.

When any human is valued less, then ANY human may be found to be of less value. And these young people have simply learned the lesson that the abortionists have been teaching. You only matter when someone else thinks you matter.

I know better than that. Until all of the people of the United States realize that the Right to Life is the foundation of every civil human right in existence, the police problem won’t be fixed, the gun violence problem won’t be solved, the political divisions won’t stop, the hate for other people won’t be resolved, and our country will continue to decline.

Life matters, especially human life, no matter what the color of one’s skin is.
