Goodbye Roe (and Doe)!!

Today, I traveled to Indianapolis for the 7th annual ProLife Women’s Conference. During my drive, my husband called me to let me know some very important news. The Supreme Court of the United States of America had overturned Roe v Wade and Doe v Bolton. While we had been expecting this outcome after the heinous act of some person releasing an early draft of the decision; I was still surprised, excited, and overjoyed.

My first call after hanging up with my husband was to my good friend who had originally planned to travel with me. We are co-chairs of our Church’s respect life committee, and had been discussing what to do in a post-Roe world. My second call was to the director of Right to Life of Louisville, a good friend and fellow fighter of the good fight. I asked for his statement, to be used here on this site. His statement is below. I’ve been busy following news coverage, and I don’t have my laptop with me, so I will close with his statement.

I’ll have more content as these days stretch out and we see how unhinged the opposition becomes. I will be discussing what this means for various States and for the country as a whole. My hope is to help provide information that can be used to explain why banning abortion is the right choice.

“What a wonderful day for LIFE! I suspect 63 million babies are looking down from heaven and smiling. Thanks to all those who have worked tirelessly to defend life since this egregious decision was made nearly 50 years ago. I’m thrilled to see this abuse of judicial authority corrected in my lifetime. We are now the post-Roe generation!” – Corey Koellner, Right to Life of Louisville Executive Director (rtllou.org)
