Women’s [Abortion] Protection Act and What YOU can do…

I have only been able to find ONE petition against the oxymoronic Women’s “Health Protection” Act that is actually an Abortion Protection Act that would take away the ability of the individual state to enact laws about abortion. That ONE petition is here.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has created a petition allowing you to tell your representatives in Washington, D.C. how you feel about the Federal Government overriding the ability of the individual states to follow the will of its constituents. Passing this bill into law would prevent any state from enforcing a law on its books limiting abortion in any way, applying common health policies to abortion facilities, requiring transfer privileges with local hospitals, and many other laws already on the books across the nation.

Some of these laws are there to hold abortion facilities to the same standards as legitimate outpatient health facilities, while some have been passed to truly limit when an abortion can be performed during a pregnancy. Other laws require informed consent for the mother; so that she knows the probable harmful side effects, the fact that there is life in her womb, and understands her decision before she makes it. Parental consent for minors, which protects minors from predators in a variety of ways. Transfer agreements with hospitals so that if this so-called “safe” procedure has an unexpected result, the abortion doctor could actually admit a patient for real care. And so many more.
Please, click this link and sign the petition.
